D became obsessed with exercise at age 9. Started eating 'healthy' at age 9.5. Restricting couple of months later. IP for 2 weeks at age 10. Slowly refed for months on Ensures alone, followed by swap over with food at a snails pace. WR after a year at age 11 in March 2017. She is back to her old happy self and can eat anything put in front of her. Now working on intuitive eating.

UGH!!!  Ireland though is not the only country struggling with this.  The US isn't doing much better to be honest.  My ex-hubby works in the ER and sees suicidal kids as young as 5.  They have a special psychiatric ER but that is only for adults so the kids have to sit in the adult ER waiting for a child psychiatrist to come evaluate them.  There is a dire need for child psychiatrists and way too few to go around.

Yes mjkz, This family were on TV last night trying to raise awareness. 
I believe this family were completely failed by the mental health system, or lack of.

Completely failed. Art therapy, my *@$&. Should have been on 24/7 suicide watch. My heart goes out to the family who have faced what every parent dreads and yet which some families end up having to go through. This shouldn't happen. Of course it shouldn't happen.
