Hi Everone, my thoughts are with you all on this forum, especially those in the awful early stages. I am hoping that my progress updates can bring hope to those in the depths of despair as I once was. Recovery is slow but when I stop and look back my son has come a long way.

10 months on after hospital he is now able to eat at school by himself and I know he is eating as the scales tell me so. He managed to choose and buy a wrap at McDonalds and eat it in frwof his peers. Last night we Chinese takeaway and he didn’t complain. He is getting his own breakfast now under some guidelines and is playing a big part in choosing
snacks. The complaints are getting less. He is back into some sport.
He is not what I would call recovered as he is not eating freely, has feared foods, and generally anorexia still makes itself known on a daily basis.
He had s growth spurt of about 4cm but is still way shorter than his peers so we need to keep pushing so he gets the food he needs to grow.
We are getting our very first puppy in 2 days which I think will help him with stress relief and pet therapy. It will also bring some joy and fun after the last awful year of fighting the AN demon. I thank God for getting us through it.

Hi donotdespair,
thanks a lot for that update, it is great to hear of your son´s progress. Hey, McDonalds and Chinese takeway!!!
I hope you all will have a lot of fun with the puppy. Some laughter in the house is surely needed.
Keep on going! Try to work on fear food and annoy AN as long as it moved out!
