I was wondering if it's possible to form a smaller group in addition to this forum for something more personal. I am looking for a few people that have similar situations. My daughter is 12 and became ill one year ago.

Hi debra18,
My d is 13 diagnosed with ran at 12 yo. Am not sure what you are looking for whether it is people to chat with here, cos that’s fully available. Lots of experience and advice abounds! On the forum there has also been mentioned a Facebook page for members and also the setting up of locality coffee groups. ( hope I have this right) I think this is through the Facebook page.
Not sure if you are new to this forum? Where are you from?
Is there something you wanted to talk about?

I live in New York . I don't have Facebook. It would be nice to chat with a few parents on a more personal level.

Hi Debra. I am travelling at the moment and have already lost one reply so I will keep this short.

It is great to meet others face to face. Keep a look out for FEAST s coffee breaks initiative designed literally to put people "on the map" so that they can form groups on the ground if they want to (the map isn't working at the moment or I would put up a link)

It also can be good to chat with others with specific things in common, for example the age of the loved one. There are specific threads here, for example for parents of younger children. You may wish to start one of your own.

I do have to say though that one of the best things about being part of FEAST for me has been meeting, both in person and on line, such a wide variety of parents from all over the world. We have come from very different backgrounds and had different experiences in treatment and what has worked and what hasn't but we have all been facing the same monster

If you find parents that are near your home and have children of same age that you would like to contact privatly you can send them a mail by clicking on their names here and then they can decide wether they want to have privat contact and answer you or not. So this is the possiblity of having a "smaller group" here.

I prefer to do both, I love to have more privat contact to some of you but I also love to be here on ATDT because it helps to get answers from the wide range of experiences even if I sometimes did not want to hear them in past. The more people answer to one thread the more meanings you have to think about.

D became obsessed with exercise at age 9 and started eating 'healthy' at age 9.5. Restricting couple of months later. IP for 2 weeks at age 10. Slowly refed for months on Ensures alone, followed by swap over with food at a snails pace. WR after a year at age 11 in March 2017. Mamroo I am trying to email you directly. When I click on your name it just comes up with your info. It doesn't give me the opportunity to email you.

Hi debra18,
if you click on Mamaroos name there is her contact info and on the left side there is "contact information" and below that "email" and then right "email mamaroo" in red and you need to click there again and then the window pops up where you can write your message.
Keep feeding. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi Debra,

Are you on your phone or tablet?

If so, click the box with 3 lines when you scroll to the top
About 3/4 of the way down the list click desktop version.
Zoom in!
Scroll to mamaroo's name and click on it
Zoom in again and her email address is on the top left.

To get back to the mobile version back page and scroll to end, click mobile version

Hope that's clear enough. It's not as complicated as it sounds
