Hi! I'm new to this group! My daughter has been on the recovery journey since 10/15. We've been through all levels of care..hospital, residential, PHP, and now finishing IOP. She's doing well! She's been back at school since January. Due to some challenges we gave her..she had some disregulated moments at school. However, she used her skills and got through it. The nurse doesn't understand what is going on despite numerous attempts at giving her some education. The school (private Catholic high school) kicked her out due to her ED. She has 3 weeks left and is expected to complete all her work by herself at home. Now we have an attorney to fight. We have documentation from her entire outside team stating that she NEEDS to be at school and SHOULD be at school. The school is ignoring the facts. Anyone else have difficulty working with private Catholic schools?
Hi Oceanwaves

So sorry your d. is in this situation. How old is she? What were the disregulated moments and what actually happened in school which initiated this situation?

Isn't it best for your d. if she is in a school situation where there is compassion, awareness and understanding on the part of the medical staff about her illness, and willingness to cooperate with the family?

I'm sure some other families will weigh in soon.
