Dear ATDT & F.E.A.S.T,

The Australian Prime Minister and the Health/Mental Health Minister announced on Sunday a huge improvement to the Australian Medicare Benefits system. Eating Disorders for the first time will have its own specific benefit number and there will be 40 psychology/psychiatry sessions plus 20 dietetic sessions a total of 60 sessions.

F.E.A.S.T's advocacy in Australia has helped this happen along with Eating Disorders Families Australia's advocacy combined with the Butterfly Foundation and the Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders.

Here is a press release from EDFA vice Chair Belinda Caldwell

(Belinda is also vice chair of F.E.A.S.T and chair of F.E.A.S.T's Australian/New Zealand task force).
