I've just come across this new resource from a company in Australia: a set of cards, each offering a gentle invitation to express and share as someone reflects on having an eating disorder and on life.

I am so moved by the sensitivity of the words and of the quirky illustrations. And by the list of suggestions on how to use the cards -- so creative. The opposite of patronising or preachy, yay!

Our children go through such hardships, both because of the eating disorder AND because the treatment so cruelly requires them to go through fear, again and again. I celebrate anything that prompts us to listen to them more deeply, and that gives them permission to express themselves and to know they matter.

If you're in Victoria I see there's a launch on 19 March 2020 https://www.facebook.com/Innovativeresources/

Thanks for this information. I have just ordered a set to (hopefully) use with my 13 daughter. I'll post once I see how they go.
D fell down the rabbit hole of AN at age 11 after difficulty swallowing followed by rapid weight loss. Progressing well through recovery, but still climbing our way out of the hole.

Hi, I wanted to let you know that our pack of cards arrived about two weeks ago. They are very well done and a lot of thought and effort has gone into the cards and the supporting information.

My d is not interested in engaging in therapy at all. So I'm finding it a bit tricky to use the cards. She's 14 and thinks all things I introduce are too childish, we are all stuck at home due to Covid-19 and we are getting on each other's nerves and so it's not like the cards have magically gotten her to open up. However, my d is a prolific writer. So I am going to try to use the cards to ask her to write something about the topic and see how I go with that.

I think these cards would be really good for a psychologist working with younger patients, or even a school counsellor.

Thanks for this Eva.

SEDIG was also approached to make us aware of these cards but I could not source them in the UK.  I wanted to get a set for NEEDS, and to have a look at them myself.  I am glad you have mentioned them.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Melstev, I see they're not on the UK shop:

Barberton, great to hear of your experience.
I'm pretty sure my daughter would have had a similar reaction
