Hi all - haven't posted for a while as things are going pretty well. My D is now WR and we are in FBT phase 2. She has had 2 periods since they returned and her weight had been increasing week on week in the run up to their return. Since then, her weight has been up and down at her weekly weigh ins. She was down a good bit today which surprised me.. And last week she was up 1.2kg just before her period.

Anyone got any thoughts on this? I'm not overly concerned and neither is our therapist as I'm still supervising all meals and most snacks plus she has started eating extra snacks whenever she feels like it. Her state is pretty good and she is actively engaged in her recovery now. I can still see some behaviours such as sitting very upright and sometimes questioning whether amounts of food are 'right'. Thanks

Could be lots of reasons:
water loading one week and not the other or the fluid retention prior to her period.
Also maybe this is just her. Watching for appropriate gains over a bit of time like a month may give you more of the average. Weight fluctuates normally too before after after a bowel movement.
As long as there is no tossing purging of her food, I would monitor over a long period to see.

Hi, we experienced same with return of periods. She is now weighed less often. Sounds like your D is doing well and great re extra snacks. We are at pretty similar stage but I still want to get more weight on.

That is for sure water that is in the body to produce periods. My d "gains" a kg in the week before periods and "loses" it with periods again. That is totally normal.
Keep feeding. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks all. I'm nearly sure its fluid retention but that spectre of weight loss is always there isn't it? @scaredmom she did used to water load so that did cross my mind. The only way to be sure, as you say, is to monitor over several months. Just don't want to be missing anything at this critical stage.
