It's been a long time since I posted, let alone read anything on the forum as our dd has recovered. A year ago she announced her engagement (no date set yet). As I sit here typing she is doing her very final piece of work for uni. Will Graduate with her Nursing Degree early next year. She will start her grad year a at Western Private Hospital, Footscray (that's in Victoria Australia folks) in Feb. She continues her casual job at an Optometrist (SpecSavers) and is very happy.
So all out there in the trenches there is hope.

Great to hear your update!  It is wonderful when parents come back to ATDT to let those new to this challenging journey that all has turned out well.

Congrats to your d on her engagement, and to her bright future ahead.

And congrats to you for the hero parenting that helped her move forward to recovery!

Hi Lisa, well done on getting your d to this new stage in her life it's great to hear of full recovery , keeps me going for another while as we fully supervise our 18 year old d with all meals. Thanks for posting and hope you are recovering too.take care of yourself.
Daughter started restricting in February 2014, tried re feeding at home hospital admission 4 1/2 months weight restored started restricting post discharge, back on meal plan full supervision weight restored april 2016. Starting to hand back responsibility for meals it's scary.

Thanks Lisafromaustralia, this update is great, I especially love the bit where you said my daughter is recovered! not recovering as just lately people have been saying (they are not professionals) 'she will probably have to live with it, or struggle all her life' not what you want to hear when you have a 15 year old !! Congratulations to you all, she is doing marvellous and it is a truly inspiring update.
17 years old, well into recovery and taking full control of food herself and gaining weight, she's loving life at the minute, it does get better!!

Daughter got her notification from Uni "Course complete"! via uni portal.  Yesterday she got it writing! In amongst  her marks were a HD (high distinction) and several distinctions! Her graduation ceremony in April. She is the 1st (so far) only grandchild (of my late parents) to graduate from Uni. Only my nephew who is in his 40's has been to uni and he hasn't even completed a course! One proud Mamma!
