....since I provided an update. A FEAST email caught my eye, and I had a minute to check in, so here goes [smile]
Life after Ed is beautiful [smile] Our teenage daughter recovered fully in 2008 following 4 months of a katy-bar-the-door, all-hands-on-deck, intensive home re-feeding 'campaign', as in WAR. And we have never looked back. She is married with 2 sweet little girls and lives life to the fullest. All glory to God!
I want to encourage everyone: eating disorders don't have to be 'managed'; they can be completely overcome, one spoonful at a time. If your loved one has relapsed, I would encourage you to add 10 pounds to the refed weight and increase supervision during refeeding and for an extended period afterward. And if it is your child who is ill, conquer this before they turn 18....much more difficult to deal with docs, etc once the child is an 'adult'.
Parents, you can do this!
My very best wishes to you 💐

So glad your daughter is doing well - great job!

The Irish tell the story of a man who arrives at the gates of Heaven and asks to be let in.  St. Peter says, “Of course. Show us your scars.”  But the man replies, “I have no scars.”   St. Peter shakes his head and says, “What a pity. Was there nothing worth fighting for?”

Oh, thank you so much for your update....it provides hope, and we all need that!

I am experiencing a relapse now and your input was perfect timing!

Congratulations for becoming a Grandma and conquering ED!!!

Best Regards,

I truly believe if love were medicinal, our children would all be cured!
