I had that recently with 2 families here that the kids came home in fact more than 1kg lighter than on papers because they were able to manipulate weighings in the hospital. That happens more often then we think.
When mine was IP it was VERY easy for them to load water and to hide stuff in underwear. They were weighed by different persons and one even weighed them in their coats (it was winter, can you imagine what only the coat weighed?).
