Hi debra18,
if the german insurance system was a normal middle class company one would think that they look what will be cheaper for them. But the system here is totally crazy. It is a public one, but not tax-funded, all people that earn money pay 14,5% of their income (before taxes) into that system. Then the system pays a fixed total for every member of the insurance into a fond where the doctors and clinics are payed from. So the lady from the insurance once said to me: "We are not intersted in how long your d is in hospital or how often she is there. We pay once for her into the system and thats it."

So with this system there will be no change here unless more parents get to know FBT and ask for it. There need to be some political pressure on that. AN is a very rare disease so the system will not break down because of costs. There are a few specialist clinics here and they earn a lot of money with that. So nobody seems to be intersted in a change and the parents who do not know anything about FBT think they have no other options. That is the reason for so many relapses here and you are right, everybody involved in that system should be ashamed...

Hi needhelp,

thanks so much, that really touched me. I like you all so much although I do know nothing about you. But I know how you feel and that makes us all brothers and sisters in heart.

https://anorexiafamily.com/helpsheets-essstorung-anleitung/#!/~/product/id=113453030
