Join parents and carers around the world to learn, discuss, and be part of the science and practice of eating disorder treatment

About this Event

FEAST of Knowledge Event

HOST: F.E.A.S.T., the global parent organization supporting carers and families

F.E.A.S.T. welcomes parents and caregivers, as well as all those interested in the support and treatment of eating disorder patients, to an unforgettable event. Meet caregivers from around the world, learn directly from top scientists and clinicians, and get a cutting edge look at new techniques and research.

We hold this one-day event every year in the same city one day following the Academy for Eating Disorders annual conference. We've done this in Chicago (2018) and New York City (2019) and the plans for Sydney on June 14 were going very well until.... Covid19. But we are tech-savvy and resilient, and we decided last month to convert this event, for this year, to an online event.

We will still be having many of the same speakers and topics, and we will still be operating on Sydney time, but the event will be a combination of recorded and live elements, with interactive features, on and around June 14.

We will STILL spend a day together learning, networking, and supporting one another. We will STILL have opportunities to meet and network with some of the leading advocates in the parent community along with some of the rock stars in the treatment world. You will finish the event with new skills and friends.

And, because travel is not a barrier, we'll be able to make this event both include and be accessible to more people in more places at a lower price. All elements will be recorded, and viewable as desired.

The registration price includes the full day of presentations and recordings. Scholarship tickets are available, and donations to cover other parents are warmly welcomed!

Full program TBA soon!

Registered too. It will be great to "meet" you all.

The times have been set to coincide with the original plan of running the meeting in Sydney but with the 12 hour window everyone should be able to join at some point or another. This link is to Time and Date time zone converter with some sample times for the start time of the meeting.
D diagnosed restrictive AN June 2010 age 13. Initially weight restored 2012. Relapse and continuously edging towards recovery. Treatment: multiple hospitalisations and individual and family therapy.

I am excited to go. The programme looks really interesting. It will be an amazing opportunity to hear from top speakers speaking directly with parents. Not quite sure how it will all work online but I have read how brilliant the face to face conferences have been in the past, so I am looking forward to being able to join in this time. Will need lots of coffee with the Sydney hours but that just adds to the excitement!!!! Thanks to the organisers.

Hi All,

I just want to remind everyone that if you have not yet registered for the Feast of Knowledge this would be a great week to do so since it is taking place next weekend.

Even if you are not able to attend sessions in real time your ticket includes an on demand option to view them afterward. There is also an opportunity to send your questions to presenters when you sign up.

This is truly a carefully thought out program and features some of the most well respected leaders in the field of eating disorders.

There is something here for everyone at any stage of the journey. Some of the topics are:

Food is Medicine: Why and How You Can Do This

Distress Tolerance: Parental Superpowers

Lifting up Siblings: What They Need Most

Covid 19 and Eating Disorders

A Circle of Safety: Preventing and Coping with Relapse

The Myths and Truths of Eating Disorders

Hope to "see" you there!

So just to confirm that what we can participate in happens on Sunday, 14 June (Sydney time) and not on Saturday, 13 June?
D fell down the rabbit hole of AN at age 11 after difficulty swallowing followed by rapid weight loss. Progressing well through recovery, but still climbing our way out of the hole.

Just jumping in to say that a link to the event, so it can be watched on demand, will be sent to all registrants as soon as it is available.  Should be sometime today.
