Kings College London are researching the experience of "Close Others" of care for patients with eating disorders. They have held events in England and Wales and are now holding an event for carers in Scotland. Owing to the current situation this will be on-line and will be held on Tuesday 2nd June 3-4pm. Here are the details

Hello,
Do you have a loved one who has received treatment for an eating disorder in Scotland?
We are recruiting carers to participate in our project entitled “Close others’ experience of
care for eating disorders: an UK-wide overview”.
The project aims to improve our understanding of the experience of loved ones of patients
with eating disorders. We want to evaluate whether their experiences of care in the UK
align with the recommendations made by Academy of Eating Disorders and Beat, the UK
charity of eating disorders. This is a joint quality improvement project with the Royal College
of Psychiatrists and Beat. In order for the project to remain patient and carer focused, we
are organising carers’ listening events across the UK.
The listening event will involve a small group-facilitated discussion, comprising of close
others and members of the research team. The discussion will be audio-recorded. No
identifiable information will be gathered except for demographic information including
gender, age range, ethnicity, counties, eating disorders diagnosis and type of care received
(inpatient/daycare/outpatient).
We aim to have carers of a loved one who has received care in child/adolescent/adult
services and inpatient/daycare/outpatient settings for eating disorders in Scotland.
When: Tuesday 2nd June 2020, 3pm – 4pm
Where: Virtual (online) – further details available on request
How to get involved: Please email Hannah Cribben (hannah.1.cribben@kcl.ac.uk) as soon as
possible if you are interested in taking part.
Reimbursement: £20 voucher for your time/effort
We thank you for your kind consideration.
King regards,
Carol
