Well well well,
For all those carers out there starting refeeding...let me tell you this.
My D was down 21kgs or 46lbs from where she is today....back in January this year. She is WR now, has been for a couple of months, and has been progressing very well, particularly in the last month. Today she told me something that should give you all strength in the trenches.....
"Mum....there are things I want to say to you but I haven't yet (since feeling better)"
"The food you have given me all this year has been very yummy and I am glad you made it all tasty food"
"The first day we were refeeding, you gave me Greek yogurt and although I told you it was disgusting and I said all those horrible things, that was the ED not me. I remember thinking that this was the most beautiful yogurt I had ever had...I hadn't eaten anything sweet for a long time before that."
What I want carers to understand...if they don't already......
DO NOT BE AFRAID OF WHAT E.D. IS AFRAID OF!
REFEED......refeed...refeed....don't listen to ED...don't listen to whinging, shouting, screaming, etc etc etc
